Hopper/Wet
Holding Tanks
GSI
offers several sizes of Bulk Feed Tanks (BFT) and Grain Hopper Tanks
(GHT) depending on your requirements. BFT's are a popular storage
system completely sealed to protect feed from moisture damage. GHT's
feature an open roof design (with the exception of the 7' and 9' diameter
models) and are used primarily as wet holding bins for grain drying
systems. |

Bulk Feed Tank Specifications

GHT/Wet Holding Tank Specifications

Boots
and Unloaders
GSI offers several quality boot and unloader designs with convenient
feed inspection and maintenance features, as well as Flex-flo
systems for efficient feed delivery.

Specialty
Tanks
GSI can provide bulk material storage and handling for a variety
of applications on and off the farm. Equipment for microbreweries,
pistachio and peanut producers, as well as the aquaculture industry
are just a few examples of GSI's ongoing efforts to fill the increasing
demand for more productive and cost efficient application specific
systems.

Side Ladders
A unique, non-interfering safety rail and sectional, fully die-formed
side ladder with dimpled, skid reducing rungs provides solid, convenient
access to the feed tank.

Drip Lip
AP's drip lip water deflection design is a one-of-a-kind, roll-formed
bottom sheet edge. It forces water away from the hopper and lower
boot area, giving complete weather protection without a loss in
capacity.
 Optional View Window
An optional view window can be added to the sidewall or hopper
for convenient monitoring of grain loading and unloading. |

Bulk Feed Tanks
Bulk
Feed Tanks (BFT) are a very popular way of storing feed due to its
ease of installation, lower expansion cost and convenient hopper
unloading. Several of these tanks can be installed to store a variety
of grains and the sealed roof and body design helps protect grain/feed
from moisture damage. GSI Bulk Feed Tanks are available in 6', 7',
9', 12', and 15' diameters and range in capacities up to 77 metric
tons (3182 bushels). See BFT specifications for more information.

GHT/Wet Holding Hopper Tanks
Wet
holding bins need to be able to support slightly heavier loads than
typical bulk feed tanks. They are available in 9', 12', 15',
18', and 21' diameters and can be used for temporary storage for
properly dried grain. GSI grain hopper tanks (GHT) are designed
to hold 45 lbs. per cubic foot, with total bin capacities exceeding
150 metric tons (or over 6000 bushels). See GHT specifications for
more information.

Tank Roofs
GSI
manufactures roofs from prime, high tensile galvanized steel. BFT's
feature a completely sealed roof design to reduce moisture penetration
and reinforcing
ribs at each roof seam for added strength and rigidity. Roof panels
are precision manufactured using die-formed tooling for quality
and consistency.
GHT's
use an open roof design (with the exception of 7' and 9' diameter
GHT's which are only available with the sealed roof). Roof eave
clearance for the open roof design can be adjusted at the time of
installation. Each roll formed roof rib has four supportive bends
in the vertical sides for maximum strength. Tall roof ribs are fully
double overlapped for moisture resistance and increased strength.
The easy to open peak cap provides a large 30" diameter opening
for fast filling.

Hopper Bottoms
Like
the roof panels, hopper panels are die-formed with rounded corners
and down turned sealing edges for safety and a weather-tight fit.
In addition, assembly with rounded, truss-head bolts reduces "bridging"
of contents on inner surfaces.
By
fitting snugly into the offset outward throat of the hopper, the
heavy gauge galvanized steel collar provides a perfectly smooth
internal transition for optimum flow, as well as a sure-fit adapter
for all 16" (406mm) unloading accessories. Hoppers are available
at no additional cost with an optional 22" (559mm) opening
which adapts to our rotary unloader ... or the larger, heavy duty
22" (559mm) metal boot.
Exclusive
to GSI hoppers, the "eave", the upper edge where the hopper
is joined to the sidewall, is die-formed to conform to the shape
of the sidewall corrugation (See A.). Most other manufacturers depend
on crimping and bolt pressure to force the connection (See B.) ...
which produces corrosion-prone distortion and "dimpling"
of the sidewall. GSI's die-formed eave provides a much tighter seal
and smoother flow of material.

Factory
Formed Fill Kits
Another
GSI exclusive is the pre-punched, extruded lip roof panels provided
for the optional pneumatic fill-kit. Pre-punching the roof panels
eliminates the inconvenience and difficulty of field-cutting the
openings for the fill and exhaust tubes, and insures secure, moisture
proof seals.
